Current Happenings

These are the Top Ten Finals (for DL archers) for the year of 2011.

Congratulations to both Cassandra for placing 3rd as she is a new archer to DL. Leif for placing 8th. Leif had a short archery season as he is now living on the east coast. We will miss him.

The Chief Archer would like to congratulate the children for their continued practice in archery. The DL children took 5 out of 10 medallions.

He would also like to thank all the TAM's for assisting on the short range thoughout the year in teaching the new archers to shoot.

And finally: The Chief Archer would like to mention Gavin from Dragon's Laire on his first year of target archery. Gavin was on the top ten board up and through Oct 2011. The year stops on Oct 31 and the archers have until the end of Nov to send in the year end scores. Someone else turned in a score higher than Gavin, which removed Gavin from the top ten. After the scores were all in, we looked and Gavin came in number 11. Among Dragon's Laire archers that is still a job well done. Great Job Gavin.

Reports from Events

September Crown

During Saturday court at September Crown the IKAC (Inter Kingdom Archery Competition) medallions for 2010 were handed out. Several of the archers from Dragon's Laire received medallions!

Congratulations to Arcos Alis who received a medallion for the Open class.

The Period Open Class medallion when to THL Alaricus.

Leif received the Youth Youth class medallion.

In the Inter Kingdom Archery Competition the highest three scores for each division by all archers within the kingdom are added together divided by 3 for the archers average score per each division. Scores from all kingdoms are sent to the score keeper. The top 3 archers/average scores from each division are compared with other kingdoms over the year. The kingdom with the highest scores receive medallions. Last year 2010 An Tir did well in several divisions.

Practices

During the late Fall, Winter and early Spring archery practices are held once a month on the first Sunday of every month from 2-4pm. There is usually a potluck at the practice. The practices are held at Thorfinn and Khulan's house, a private location; for more information on attending archery practice please contact the Chief Archer, THL Alaricus Simmonds, or deputy Chief Archer. Also note, the January Practice will be on the 8th of Jan, not the 1st.

Second Fall/Winter Archery Practice Site

There is now a second monthly archery practice scheduled. It takes place on the 3rd Sunday of every month, at Loric and Eileen's in Bremerton. Please contact the chief archer,THL Alaricus Simmonds, for directions. The first such practice is on Nov 20th, 2 to 4 pm. The second will be Dec 18th, 2-4 pm. Come out and shoot!

Guilds and SubGuilds

The Siege Guild is part of the Archery Marshallate, subordinate to the Chief Archer. The Guild has a webgroup at DL Siege - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dlsiege
