A Barony in the Kingdom of An Tir which is
a Part of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA, Inc)
Several members of the single entry focus group entered their projects in either the Baronial or Kingdom Arts and Sciences Competitions.
THL Aelianora de Wyntringham took her single entry project, Digby's scalded-curd cheese, and used it as her winning entry in the Baronial Arts and Sciences Competition. Another project, a research paper on goats in Britain, was also presented by THL Aelianora.
Dame Madrun presented her research paper on Tablet Weaving at Baronial Arts and Sciences. She and THL Aelianora received honors as scholars of the Barony in consequence of their paper presentations.
Lady Ela y Ynis Dewi used her single entry project, on papermaking, to compete at the Baronial Arts and Sciences competition. She did quite well there, and took the project to Kingdom Arts and Sciences as a single entry. She knocked their socks off!
And speaking of missing socks, Mrq. Laurellen, our Baroness and leader of the focus group, presented her spanish gown and amazing research and sewing insights at Kingdom Arts and Sciences. She had an audience of over 35 people listening in rapt attention! Bravo!
In the post-mortem after Kingdom Arts and Sciences, Mrq. Laurellen graciously consented to continue
this group. Although not everyone involved in the group managed to complete a project, the focus,
periodic reminders and general support helped many to at least start their projects. With this
in mind, Mrq. Laurellen sent the group a request:
Since next years KA&S/KBC will be in Stromgard (Vancouver, WA) it's likely that many of us can
enter a single entry. In that case, our Baroness wants us to choose a project/focus and submit it
to the group by April 15th. The description of the project should be fairly detailed, so that the group
can get a good sense of what direction we(you) will be taking the project.
With that in mind the following people have submitted lists of possible projects:
If you want to join the group, please contact our Baroness.
